How long will it take to learn wake boarding?

I’m going to wakeboard this summer, how long do you think it will take to learn? I’m an advanced level snowboarder so I have good balance but how long will it take to get decent at wakeboarding? I’m not looking to do flips, tricks or anything like that I just want to get good enough at it so I can stand up and ride so I can pass the time until next winter comes around

Also, compared to snowboarding how high is the risk of injury?

i am a competative waterskier and have done a good amount of wakeboarding. i learned to get up on wakeboard on my second attempt and i have also taught others to do this. i taught a 12 year old girl how to wakeboard in about 7 or 8 attempts and she loved it. she had never done any watersports and very little snow skiing of snowboarding. u being a snowboarder i think u will get up in about 5 tries. definitely on your first day. just get a buddy who knows how to wakeboard and he’ll teach you how to get up no problem

if your that good at snowbording wakeboarding wil be no prolem, you will do just fine, it will prlly take you a few tries to get up, then a few sets to learn how to do some grabs.

Probably just a few trys. A few hours at the very most. I don’t even snowboard and that’s all it took me. Have fun and good luck!!!

If all you’re looking to do is cruise, it shouldn’t take you long at all. Getting up is the hardest part, and can take several tries, but you’ll get the hang of it. Using your edges to carve around will be similar to snowboarding, the only real difference is you’ll be putting more weight on your back foot rather than your front foot.

And since you’re not planning on doing any jumps or anything, the risk of injury is pretty low. If you catch an edge you might crash hard and get a headache, maybe a little bit of whiplash. The board could also come up and hit you in the head. More severe injuries would come from jumping and attempting tricks.
