I’ve been wakeboarding about a year now and I am wondering if it I should get a wakeboard tower? My boat has a 10 inch pole with a loop on the end to tie my rope to. I don’t really want to pay $600-$2000 for a tower.. I was told if you have a tower it helps you go higher in the air and you can do more tricks?
you should defiantly get a tower. You can go higher with a tower so you can get more tricks off. There is also the size of the wake. Which makes you go higher or not so high. Get A NATIQUE BOAT THEY ARE THE BEST
i was scared to go crazy to before but you no i got the basic’s down and then i started practicing on the trampoline and the started to pull 180 backflips and i turned in to 360′s and 1080′s.
you needa be in the right state of mind
you just gotta get out there and really feel it.
if you dont feel it then dont do it right away
mess around a bit losin up relax then say iight boy
your doin it. then just giver all you got.
its like your first time riding a bike
we never wanted mom or dad to let us go but wen they did and we got it HA we never needed them again.
you just gotta do it.
good luck

Click on a manufacturer and then simply scroll your cursor over the boards to see their defined characteristics. This should give you an idea of the boards to look at first.
Being that you are an experienced snowboarder, you should not have much trouble after getting up. Edging on a wakeboard is similar to snowboarding. You will have the addition of fins and perhaps channels on the bottom of the board to provide stability and control.
May I also suggest checking out ‘The Book’ DVD Wakeboarding series. This 5 DVD set will provide all of the information you ever wanted to know about wakeboarding. The first DVD covers an introduction of sorts about equipment from history to current design as well as learning your way around a boat and how to boat safely. While this wouldn’t replace a course in boating safety, it will cover some important information to know. The second DVD will be your ideal starting point for learning the basic fundamentals and help you to avoid any progression pit falls. The DVD’s can be purchase seperately but the better deal is for all of them. Also available on Wakeside or any other wakeboarding site.
There is also some good forums at http://forums.wakeboarder.com/, here your will find great information and contacts from all over the world. Probably the best wakeboarding community on-line. Hope this information gets you what you need to get out there and start enjoying this great sport. Good luck and most of all, have fun!
]]>This is no different then a high school football player sending in tape of them to colleges to try and get a scholarship….Same deal.
Other things to check out: Fuel TV’s Unsponsored program, Jamie O’Brien (pro surfer who makes his own videos) at jamieobrien.com……
Good luck
]]>Also, compared to snowboarding how high is the risk of injury?
i am a competative waterskier and have done a good amount of wakeboarding. i learned to get up on wakeboard on my second attempt and i have also taught others to do this. i taught a 12 year old girl how to wakeboard in about 7 or 8 attempts and she loved it. she had never done any watersports and very little snow skiing of snowboarding. u being a snowboarder i think u will get up in about 5 tries. definitely on your first day. just get a buddy who knows how to wakeboard and he’ll teach you how to get up no problem
This might help….
