My family wakeboards, right now we have a Ski Nautique. We’re thinking of buying a Malibu. Any thoughts?
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the top tier wakeboard boat manufacturers. Malibu, MasterCraft, Nautique, and Tige. But be prepared to pay upwards of $60K + for the top of the line V drives. Go over to www.wakeboarder.com, there you will find reviews and forum threads on just about every boat on the market.
I based my decision on form, function, and dealer service. I went with the MasterCraft X30 back in 2003, with a family of 5 and you want to bring extended family and friends, you need the space. If I were buying a new boat, i would be considering the Malibu 247 for its size. A friend of mine just picked up a 2006 VLX. Very sweet ride I must say and with the 1200 lbs ballast tanks and hydraulic wedge, you will never run out of wake on that boat. Good luck.

You can go wakeboarding without a boat at a cable park. There are only a half dozen or so in the US, but there are hundreds in Europe and the rest of the world. If you want to know more look at the link.

I notice that the item will specify either or. Other than lenght, the handle seems the same.
thanks
Wakeboarding ropes are designed to stretch less, providing more consistant pulling than a very cheap ski rope.
It’s a very annoying problem to get yanked around really hard while on the wakeboard because the rope bungies on you from it stretching too much.

What is the best type? I’ve seen a retractable single tube, a tripod setup, and larger cage styles. We’ve tried a cage style (4 anchor points) in the past, but the rear wall got in the way. I need something that will get the rope up above the motor. Right now, we’re just using the two clip points on the rear corners. This makes the rope drag through the water, is very close to the motor, and makes getting up on a wakeboard pretty difficult. Any ideas?
check out this link. i have used a tripod style in the past that worked very good.

i really need a tower to improve my tricks but im not sure if i can attach a tower. people who know boats please help me out soon as possible!
why not you could fit a tower and Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro but the big q is ballast. also top speed of 50mph+ I suggest lowering prop pitch should help lots just going cost more with 2 props. If planing isn’t a problem you could try adding the majority of your weight in the back say up to 60 to 70%..Also play with the trim lot’s it cleans up and makes the wake larger.

I’ve been wakeboarding from my dads fish’n boat for about 2 yrs. We just got a 2000model 21ft bayliner. Would it help me to expand my skills if I had a tower or tripod?

Because I dont have one but I would really like to try wakeboarding out. I can probably get access to one, but are there generallly any places that give lessons without you having a boat? I live in FL btw so the general area has a lot of wakeboarders…
I got two places one a cable park they are good but not the real way and hard to start on a cable you will do more swimming and walking then boarding. it depends what area in fl if you live near dearfield go to ski rixen they ppl there rock and help. also a guy in west palm beach that was a pro trick skier can show u some stuff i used to only jump to the middle of the wake now i can jump wake to wake even switch. if you go to this guy let me warn you the boat, and lake are GROSS. his name is chip somthing look it up on google. by the way dont buy a board till at least a few months of boarding just rent one

A lake in my county is being studied as to whether it is a canidate for an ‘ecozone’ in which a cetain section of the body of water would be designated for only boats power by electric motors or less. This would encompass maybe 5% or less of the entire body of water. It is a free country and pleasure boaters have as much right to be on the water as everyone else. But it is frustrating to see an otherwise nice lake be churned into slop.
Fossil Fuel Exhausts
There is a case for all bodies of water below a certain size to be accessible only to non-motorised craft for reasons already outlined herein, plus the fact that most of the motor-craft would use fossil fuels which
- put exhaust into the lake area (some motor exhaust goes straight into the water)
- contributes to accelerated climate change
Sorry, I don’t have exact sources, other than all recent environmental science textbooks (First Year textbooks give good overviews of burning fuels)
Search "combustion + engine + exhausts"
Freedom = responsibility
A ‘free country’ like Australia or USA means we have the freedom to weigh the needs of future generations with needs of the present, which leads to a responsibility to prevent damage to our heritage (and all public spaces).

My price range is around 35,000 used or new. Probably Used.
Check out a used Centurion Enzo or Storm series. They are used for both skiing and wakeboarding competitions.
