Does practicing wakeboarding tricks on carpet hurt the wakeboard?

My brother keeps doing wake board tricks in his room on the carpet and i want to know if that hurts the wake board or scratches it.
If he is heavy and landing really hard on the ground he could break it but it won’t scratch it from the carpet.
